The tour rolls on…..Scotland and Ireland were incredible. Tonight we are in Liverpool to play The Cavern Club. Garry just got a brick on the wall of the Cavern. Very cool.
We have been a bit sheltered from the terrible news in London, but our thoughts are with everyone. We must continue to bring music to the people……while remembering those who have been affected………which is all of us. Our thoughts have not really changed since this post after Manchester.
So, we are going to keep rocking. Please come to one of the shows……bring some friends and let’s celebrate life and music together! Garry is a trooper and loves to meet the fans after the show……signed for two hours in Dublin after our show. In the van on the way to the hotel he said, “this is a lot more work than 4 hours onstage with Springsteen!”…………he loves it.

“Stay Away” from Garry’s new cd………

As of today it is two weeks until Garry Tallent and his band play The Cluny in Newcastle. I think tonight they are playing the Stone Pony, and as a 40 year member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band i’m sure it is a high point.
Garry is bringing quite a lineup to the Cluny and beyond………Eddie Angel and Jimmy Lester from the Grammy Award winning band Los Straightjackets, Fats Kaplin (Jack White, Beck, Trisha Yearwood, Nanci Griffith), Americana sensation Kristi Rose, and the rest of the lineup rounded out with Johnny MacKinnon from my band the Roadtrippers, and Liverpudlian Etienne Gerrard playing bass for the baseman.
I’ll be opening the show and herding cats. It is a great honor for me personally to bring such a legend and gentleman to Newcastle—-a place that has shown me a lot of love through the years. Garry and I have been friends for 25 years and recently started working on a record together to honor my father. Garry is a huge Buddy Holly fan, and his enthusiasm runs to the early “Buddy and Bob” days as well, so it all made sense.
Anyway, the tickets are selling fast and there are only 20 or so left, so grab your tickets to the show at The Cluny in Newcastle today!
I love this song from Garry’s new cd………
And if you have no clue who I am and found yourself reading this……here is “Some Comfort” from my most recent cd………..
