We have arrived in the Netherlands for the tour. I cannot believe it has been 15 years since I toured with Al Perkins and Sherman and we played several shows here! I’m looking forward to seeing all my Dutch friends and maybe even some friends from Belgium and Germany is they fancy a road trip?

Michael Scott Boudreaux and I are sitting in the outskirts of Amsterdam contemplating whether to rest and venture into the city centre. I’m more inclined to sit it out……..but Michael may drag me out after all. We shall see.

On a personal note……..this tour is a special one. Jude is literally one of my all-time singer songwriters……..I sing harmonies on several of her songs……..Michael Scott Boudreaux is shining on the guitar with Jude and myself……and making friends everywhere. It has been amazing to see so many friends that I haven’t seen in years……..and it feels like this may be one of the best lineups I’ve ever taken on the road. So, please come……and tell your friends!

Tomorrow (Jan. 25th) we play in Leiden, Netherlands at Qbus-Tickets here.

Friday, Jan. 26th-Hengelo, NetherlandsTickets here.

Saturday, Jan. 27th-OFF…….unless someone would like to host a house concert in The Netherlands or West part of Germany……have sound system and ready to rock. Email me if interested.

Sunday, Jan. 28th-Panningen, Netherlands at Tinus (a very special afternoon show)……..tickets here.

Hope to see you soon!

The UK/Ireland/Netherlands tour is underway. Join us!

The UK/Ireland/Netherlands tour is now underway with the legendary Jude Johnstone opening the tour, super-talented, humble Johnny MacKinnon on piano and beautiful high harmonies, and future star Michael Scott Boudreaux nailing the guitar parts and playing a couple of songs in my set.

I’ve always sought to put together a bill that makes musical sense…….and I’m very happy with this one. Jude is one of my top five all-time favourite songwriters and I’m honoured to have her on the road with us.

Today, we play Bromsgrove, just south of Birmingham, then Brighton (SOLD OUT), London at the Camden Club, Liverpool at the Cavern Club, The Met in Bury near Manchester…….and then we shoot over to Belfast, Omagh, and Dublin.

Then the Scottish leg begins………Glasgow, Ettrickbridge (SOLD OUT), and Kinross, and then we shoot all the way down to Teignmouth (near Exeter)……

We then shoot over to the Netherlands for the first time in years to Leiden, Hengelo, and Panningen.

House Concert and Special Events in 2024

I’m booking house concerts and special events in 2024. Would you like to host a house concert? Have me at a special event? I’m geared up for everything. Get in touch and let’s discuss how to make your special event fantastic.

I think I’m the only person to ever do four 50 States in 50 Days tours……and most of those shows were house concerts. Incredible journeys they were……..and we met the most fantastic people. So, email me at my first name at kevinmontgomery.com and let’s talk.

The legendary singer-songwriter Jude Johnstone joins the tour of the UK, Netherlands, and Ireland. She has written songs for Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Stevie Nicks, Mary Black, Laura Branigen, Trisha Yearwood…….in fact, she is sort of to Trisha Yearwood…..what Jimmy Webb was to Glen Campbell…..writing “Hearts in Armor”, “The Nightingale”, and the #hit, “The Woman Before Me”……incredible. Tickets are on sale now.

On a personal note…….her music has truly gotten me through some rough spots in my life. In one phase after I asked out of my A&M Record deal…….I was delivering papers for the Tennessean for two years, all night long, running up and down apartment steps. I probably listened to “Hearts in Armor” a thousand times……singing the Don Henley harmony part. In the days when one would pour over credits…..invariably, she would have written my favourite song on the records I was listening to.

In recent years, we became friendly and she appeared on my live stream, “Live from my dining room”. In recent months, she has been a fixture at the recording sessions for the “Good Thing” album. Having her there has been like having a sounding board. By the way, she was also present during the recording of Bruce Springsteen’s “The River” as a result of her friendship with Clarence Clemons, but that is another story and one that she can share this Sunday on the live stream.

Anyway, there are two things that I’ve always tried to do in my career. One, make EVERY song on a record be something I’m proud of. Two, have someone open the show that I’m a fan of………take Carter Wood, for instance……..”Pretty Girls Drink for Free”—stunning.

So, I’m honoured that Jude Johnstone is coming on the tour. I envision singing the Don Henley part on “Hearts in Armor” and hopefully a few other things during her set. I just want to make some beautiful music for everyone.

So, please buy your tickets in advance-it really helps take some of the anxiety of organising a tour like this! If you guy a ticket for the show…….I’ll immediately send you “Adios” from the new cd……unless I’m asleep at the time.

Here is a playlist of my songs and Jude’s on Spotify. Save it and give it a few listens.

The Scottish dates on the January tour…..

Update: Jude Johnstone has been added to the tour as the opener. Truly one of my all-time favourite songwriters! Montgomery is a Scottish name……..I guess that is why I feel such a connection with the Scottish folks. Well, no, actually it is because they are funny and slightly depressed. I get it. Perfect fit.

So, I cannot wait to get back there. I have three shows confirmed in Scotland for the January tour of the UK/Ireland/Netherlands-Glasgow, Ettrickbridge in the Borders, and Kinross. Tickets are on sale now. Buy your ticket or tickets and I’ll send you “Adios” from the upcoming record…..it is literally my favourite song, written by one of my favourite songwriters, Jimmy Webb. Order the ticket……I’ll get an email and reply back immediately with the track as a special thanks!

Johnny MacKinnon will be joining me on piano, Michael Scott Boudreaux from Louisiana will be playing guitar (wrote “Good Thing” with me), and a very special opening act that I can’t announce yet.

Glasgow, Scotland-Wednesday, Jan. 17th at The Glad Cafe-owned by musicians……..they treat you like royalty there, because they understand. I’ve grown to love this place a lot. There are currently 30 tickets left. Grab yours here.

Ettrickbridge, Scotland in the BordersFriday, Jan. 19th at the Kirkhope Parish Hall– There is a collection of people in the Yarrow and Ettrick Valleys that feel like my family. I could not come to Scotland without seeing them. The Borders is spectacular and the people are as well. The village hall is an excellent traditional village hall…………..and there is a pub a few doors down with food. It is a Friday night…..doors are at 7:30pm and we play at 8pm to give people time to travel and get something to eat. Grab your tickets here.

Kinross, Scotland-Saturday, Jan. 20th at Backstage at the Green Hotel- One of the finest venues in Scotland, thanks to David Mundell. The guy has put his heart and soul into putting on live music for 20 plus years. The sound is some of the best in Scotland as well. The hotel is a golf resort with great food. Come for dinner and the show. Grab your tickets here.

If you’ve read this far……..thank you. I truly hope to see you on this tour. I’ve been working hard on the new record and can’t wait for you to hear some of the songs. Love ya’ll. See you soon! Ah, and If you want to put on a show somewhere in Scotland on Thursday, Jan. 18th…..just message me on Facebook or email me.

In other news…….I’m on Spotify. I’m on Tik Tok.….thought I’d hate it, but I love it. I’m on Facebook and will be broadcasting live today at 8pm. I’m on Instagram. Ok, see you soon. Thanks for reading.
