The Scottish dates on the January tour…..

Update: Jude Johnstone has been added to the tour as the opener. Truly one of my all-time favourite songwriters! Montgomery is a Scottish name……..I guess that is why I feel such a connection with the Scottish folks. Well, no, actually it is because they are funny and slightly depressed. I get it. Perfect fit.

So, I cannot wait to get back there. I have three shows confirmed in Scotland for the January tour of the UK/Ireland/Netherlands-Glasgow, Ettrickbridge in the Borders, and Kinross. Tickets are on sale now. Buy your ticket or tickets and I’ll send you “Adios” from the upcoming record…..it is literally my favourite song, written by one of my favourite songwriters, Jimmy Webb. Order the ticket……I’ll get an email and reply back immediately with the track as a special thanks!

Johnny MacKinnon will be joining me on piano, Michael Scott Boudreaux from Louisiana will be playing guitar (wrote “Good Thing” with me), and a very special opening act that I can’t announce yet.

Glasgow, Scotland-Wednesday, Jan. 17th at The Glad Cafe-owned by musicians……..they treat you like royalty there, because they understand. I’ve grown to love this place a lot. There are currently 30 tickets left. Grab yours here.

Ettrickbridge, Scotland in the BordersFriday, Jan. 19th at the Kirkhope Parish Hall– There is a collection of people in the Yarrow and Ettrick Valleys that feel like my family. I could not come to Scotland without seeing them. The Borders is spectacular and the people are as well. The village hall is an excellent traditional village hall…………..and there is a pub a few doors down with food. It is a Friday night…..doors are at 7:30pm and we play at 8pm to give people time to travel and get something to eat. Grab your tickets here.

Kinross, Scotland-Saturday, Jan. 20th at Backstage at the Green Hotel- One of the finest venues in Scotland, thanks to David Mundell. The guy has put his heart and soul into putting on live music for 20 plus years. The sound is some of the best in Scotland as well. The hotel is a golf resort with great food. Come for dinner and the show. Grab your tickets here.

If you’ve read this far……..thank you. I truly hope to see you on this tour. I’ve been working hard on the new record and can’t wait for you to hear some of the songs. Love ya’ll. See you soon! Ah, and If you want to put on a show somewhere in Scotland on Thursday, Jan. 18th…..just message me on Facebook or email me.

In other news…….I’m on Spotify. I’m on Tik Tok.….thought I’d hate it, but I love it. I’m on Facebook and will be broadcasting live today at 8pm. I’m on Instagram. Ok, see you soon. Thanks for reading.

The UK/Netherlands tour is happening! There are some exciting developments happening that I can’t announce yet, but very soon. Special “Early Bird” tickets are available, first come, first serve, for the next 24 hours. Buy your tickets today and I’ll send you “Adios” from the forthcoming cd. “Adios” is my all-time favourite song……written by Jimmy Webb. Buy a ticket/tickets and I’ll get an email and respond right away with the track….unless I’m asleep. There are some dates open in the schedule, so if you want to host a house concert, or host a show in your local venue or village hall, then please let me know?

In regards to the new record, “Good Thing”—I will admit that during covid I lost my mojo a bit. As the world started opening up……it was still difficult to get all the musicians I wanted in the same room, which compounded the problem. Through the years I’ve struggled with juggling life and creativity and writer’s block. I can’t say that I’ve perfected how to handle any of those subjects, but what I do know is that I’ve got my “mojo” back and I have a direction for the record.

I’ve been quietly recording with my guys in Nashville and it feels magical to me. I’m humbled by the beauty of the musicianship. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. Thank you for all those that contributed to the crowdfunding campaign and thank you for your patience. Another round of recording in scheduled for late November, so I will keep you informed.

So, let’s talk about Spotify and Tik Tok. I never thought I’d be on either one, but…..the bottom line is that Spotify is 80% of how people are consuming music. I’ve resisted it and never paid one bit of attention to my artist page there until last month. I claimed my page and got a Spotify subscription and started listening to music, and to be honest, I’ve listened more and found more new artists, and old forgotten songs than I have in years. So, I’m there. Please follow my artist page on Spotify. One fun side note, I started a playlist of my favourite songs and had my Facebook friends join in and add their favourites….it is pretty epic…...listen and save it here.

Tik Tok………..I went on Tik Tok during the pandemic and hated it. I tried it again last month and have fallen in love with it. It learns what you are interested in and serves it to you in an immediate, interactive way. It makes YouTube feel sort of dinosaur-ish. Again, I’ve discovered so much new music there. I love it now. I’m putting up some stories behind the music videos there……. that aren’t found anywhere else. I have fun with it. Please connect with me on Tik Tok. Try it for a week. You will be hooked.

Ok, I’m going now. Thanks for reading. I hope to see you on tour soon! See the tour dates.

Please sign up for my email list-this will guarantee that we can always stay in touch. I keep emails to a minimum as well………
